Watch this space…

After I finish up attending to some family business by the end of August, this site and the ebay store will be seeing a lot more activity. From here on out the Discogs shop will mainly be used for sealed LP’s, NM 45’s, and the odd rare CD.

Everything else will be on ebay because I believe in uploading quality pictures of vintage vinyl using my copy stand and DSLR camera especially because some people seem to care about the jacket more than the condition of the record.

Here’s a picture of my dog Nico in front of some records.

Basement Bar Stereo

Currently the stereo that is right by my PC and record cleaning machine is out of commission while I convert a rather huge pile of MP3 download cards on to my Sony HAP-S1, which is one of the final pieces I need to add to my main stereo in the great room upstairs, but we will save that for another blog entry.

Point is, I sorted a bunch of R&B/Soul/Funk 45’s this afternoon and evening. Then I fired up my VPI Cyclone record cleaning machine for the first time (it replaces my trusty HW-16.5 VPI machine, which I am moving upstairs to continue servicing my personal record collection after seven years of trusty dual service) to clean the lucky ten I decided to list on Discogs tonight.

Discogs & ebay

You can find me on Discogs & ebay under the SofaKingManyRecords name.

Right now both stores are rather barren as I decided to embark on a rebirth with the launching of this web page.

But stay tuned! The best way to do this is sign up for the email newsletter which will send out usually just once at the beginning of the month letting everyone know what my current focus is and if any new, exciting arrivals have come in or gems uncovered.

Like, at the moment, I am cleaning a bunch of R&B/Funk/Soul 45’s on my VPI and will be focusing on that until I exhaust my current stock. These will be listed on Discogs.

Hello world!

Welcome to sofakingmanyrecords.com! My name is Niki and I have been a record collector for over 20 years and a vendor of vintage vinyl for the past 15 years.

Over the years as a collector and seller I have met with and become friends with all kinds of vinyl enthusiasts, which resulted in a respectable wealth of knowledge on the subject. As such, I figured it might be nice to have my own little piece of the internet to talk about this fun pastime. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life as a record collector, there are plenty of other websites out there that want to do that. What I am here to do is share some of my experiences, stories, and views on equipment & accessories. I can also better keep folks who already know and follow my business on other platforms up to date on what I am up to with recent acquisitions and styles about to be listed. While I am already all over the internet, I figured this would now be where I live. My home base.

Hopefully my content can be of some use to some folks young and old out there in internet-land, and hopefully I can make a few more friends. You can never have too many friends in life or in the record collecting community!
